Backcountry Table is a gathering for people who love the outdoors and believe great food makes every adventure better.
For one weekend nestled in the Selkirk Mountains, cooks, overlanders, riders, hikers, and curious eaters come together to share skills, stories, and seriously good food.

The Experience

Cook.
Hands-on camp cooking workshops with chefs, outdoor cooks, mixologists, foragers, and food writers. Learn something new, then bring it to the table, literally. Backcountry Table is a food-focused weekend: we encourage everyone to bring their own food, cook what inspires them, and share if they feel like it. No pressure to feed the crowd. Just bring your appetite, your ideas, and something worth eating.

Camp.
Saddle up in your rig, your ride, your tent and settle in for a weekend of friends, food and adventure. Ride, hike, or explore the Selkirks between culinary exploration.

Community.
Long-table dinners where you bring your own dish to enjoy and if you want to share a bite, even better. Storytelling, music, a collaborative brew release, and late-night campfires. We provide worshops, vibes, some food and drinks throughout the weekend...You bring the rest.

Fully off grid, with a few amenities, Backcountry Table welcomes you to the Selkirks.
Whitewater Ski Resort is a well-known, locally loved ski hill about 20 kilometres southeast of Nelson (BC, Canada) along the Powder Highway. It’s famous for its light, dry powder, with more than 12 metres of snowfall each year, and offers 1,184 acres of terrain ranging from steep runs to open bowls. During the off season the area is a popular spot for hiking, RV camping (Humming Bird Lodge), and so much more. The resort is also known for its great food, relaxed vibe, and unplugged atmosphere, with no cell service on the mountain. With shoulder season a bit more flexible, we knew it would be the perfect place to host our meet up!

Friday
Arrival, set up camp, Ingredient Challenge, Happy Hour, outdoor Pizza Party (on us), welcome fire, collab brew release, and camp dinner (BYOD: bring your own dinner to cook and eat). No need to feed anyone else, just yourself.

Saturday
Community Breakfast! Coffee skillshare, workshops, celebrity demos, One Pot Challenge, long-table dinner (BYOD), bring your own dinner and eat at the table together. Share a bite if you want to, but there's no obligation. S'moresgasbord under the stars (we've got the s'mores covered, you bring the sweet tooth (or your special recipe!)).

Morning coffee (Best Brew Workshop), communal breakfast, yoga, workshops, closing gathering, recipe exchange, bookshare and camp tear down…
